A handle must fit the cleaning head and the working conditions. Start with a sample or drawing that defines the complete assembly, rather than choosing by colour or price alone.
1. Define dimensions and connection
Specify length, outside diameter and wall thickness. For telescopic handles, include closed and extended lengths and the locking mechanism. Confirm screw or socket dimensions with the intended broom or mop head.
2. Compare materials and finishes
Discuss powder-coated or plastic-covered metal tubes, stainless steel and aluminium options for the intended application. Ask the supplier to identify the actual tube material and finish. Evaluate corrosion, surface quality and grip using agreed acceptance criteria instead of assuming one material is suitable for every environment.
3. Approve the complete sample
Check the cap, grip, connector, locking action and compatibility with the cleaning head. Specify colour, label and packaging, and retain an approved sample for comparison with production.
